Archdiocesan Legislative Network

The Archdiocesan Legislative Network is comprised of about 4,000 Catholics throughout the Archdiocese of Washington.   Members are alerted to important issues through legislative alerts from the Archdiocesan Office of Social Development. Members participate in writing letters, phone call campaigns, lobbying, prayer vigils, and the candle-light march for life in Annapolis.

At St. Peter’s, parishioners are asked to participate in two important events:  The first is a legislative briefing in January where issues are discussed and members informed of the position of the Church on those issues. This is in preparation for the upcoming legislative session. The second event is Lobby Night which is held in Annapolis on Presidents’ Day each February. On Lobby Night members speak directly to our state senators and delegates to influence them to support the Church's position on these issues.

All concerned Catholics who want to be active advocates for social justice are welcome.  Contact Suzanne Carr, Coordinator at 301-645-5203 or suzannemcarr@verizon.net.
