Food Pantry
You can help make a difference for local families by leaving a grocery bag of food in one of the baskets at the gift table at the back of St. Peter's sanctuary. Donations will benefit the St. Peter's Food Pantry. Please do not donate perishable food or items packed in plastic bags. Also, please avoid glass if possible. Thank you for sharing your gifts for those in need.
Our August 28 food pantry served 73 households who came to the pantry and another 23 that we delivered--helping a total of 96 households in August.
Our next Food Pantry will be on Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 9 to 11 am at St. Peter's School.
During our August food pantry, we used up virtually all of our donated food but we do have some commodity food left for our next pantry. We Based on past experience, we already know the categories of food that are needed for our September food pantry. They are: peanut butter, spaghetti sauce, juices, and jelly. See complete list Click Here
We will attempt to update our food needs at least weekly.

Thank you to all St. Vincent de Paul members, parishioners, and friends who participated and supported the Second Annual Friends of the Poor Walk in Leonardtown on Saturday, September 26. Twenty-three supporters from St. Peter's walked on behalf of the poor in this important fund raiser for the work of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Walkers enjoyed good weather, a family atmosphere complete with children and pets, and a free brunch provided by donations from sponsors. Our St. Peter Conference raised $3,075 from the Walk. Your support is greatly appreciated.
