St. Peter’s School News

Things every parishioner might like to know about St. Peter’s School so far this year:

  1. Our school has qualified for the National Blue Ribbon for the 2ndtime in 2 years
  2. Peter’s has Robot STEM teams called VEX. We have middle school teams and grades 3-5 have teams. All will compete January 14th– the first of several competitions in 2017
  3. We will compete in the county spelling bee- Feb. 16th
  4. This year we have 3 bands; beginners, prep and concert. No other school in the Archdiocese of Washington has this many bands.
  5. The school students collected shoes in keeping with “Walk with Francis” for an orphanage in Ghana. The Catholic Standard came on December 20th to cover the story.
  6. Family events included:
    1. Back to school night
    2. Race for Education- raised over $33,000
    3. Trunk or Treat
    4. Grandparent’s day
    5. Breakfast with Santa
    6. Christmas band concert
    7. Christmas program
    8. CSW will be from January 29- 3 February
  7. We are just about at max capacity in every grade (282 students)
  8. 5 star reviews on school review websites
  9. Our school has 220 computers, 90 tablets, Wi-Fi throughout the building, 2 SMART boards and 1 SMART projector
  10. Security cameras throughout the school
