St. Peter’s School Plans 2016 Gala!

mrmrswestAs March ushers in warmer weather, our thoughts turn to the springtime. And at Saint Peter’s School, that means the annual gala!

For years, one of the biggest fundraisers benefiting St. Peter’s School has been the annual spring gala. And this year’s gala is no exception. But get ready for a few surprises because this year it will be unlike any other gala of the past.

To be held on April 23rd at the Jaycee’s hall in Waldorf, the 2016 gala will feature an art auction with live auctioneering, live music, and dinner. There will also be a silent auction with items on display for bidding such as trips to great places, tickets to professional sporting events, an upcoming Justin Bieber concert, plus much more.

Be sure not to miss it because it has been determined that this will be the last year for the annual gala. St. Peter’s School is moving to only one fundraiser per year which will be the Race for Education, held in the fall of every school year on Columbus Day.

The goal for the gala is to raise $30,000. Early this year, school families were charged for two tickets to the event which promises to be exciting. The art that is for auction ranges from $100 to $3,000 in value. And prior to the art auction, a preview time will be available so folks can take a look at what is available for bidding.

There will also be art door prizes given throughout the evening. Tickets are still available for $60 per person. And of course all proceeds will be used to support the programs and services of St. Peter’s School.

“The gala is always a great time,” says J.R. West, principal of St. Peter’s School. “Families come together for this event to raise money so we can continue to provide a top notch education for our students. It takes a lot to run a school, not only the cost to educate a child, but to maintain the school building and other expenses. That is why this is such a critical fundraising event for us. We want every student who comes to St. Peter’s School to get the best education possible.”

Free babysitting will be provided by the school so that child care is not a reason for anyone to miss out on what promises to be a great evening.
